Chardonnay Shopping San Juan Island

In case you are looking for a good reason to come and visit San Juan Island, this year’s Chardonnay Shopping event is December 5th . Chardonnay Shopping is an annual event where the islanders shop locally on a specific day to support our local businesses and restaurants. Most of businesses and restaurants entice shoppers with special discounts and/or extended hours, or drawings with purchase. For the event itself, breakfast is offered at Friday Harbor House starting at 8:00 am to noon. They will have a buffet-style service for $25 plus 50% off on all mimosas. Most of the stores will be open by 9:30 and some will remain open until 7:00 pm. At noon, visit the various local vendors located at Haley’s Sports Bar and Grill and purchase their products and/or gift certificates. Numerous local artists will be at Brickworks during the day offering their products as well. Volunteers will be selling Chardonnay Shopping Bags this year for $15 plus $5 raffle tickets.

It will be a fun-filled evening when all start gathering at 6:00 pm at the corner of Argyle and Spring Street to await the arrival of Santa to light the tree. We will have caroling while sipping some hot chocolate and cookies from Riptide Café. On the schedule will be the Treblemakers Choir of the Elementary School! After we are finished with the caroling and tree lighting, all will head over to Brickworks for pictures with Santa and crafts with Island Rec!

Friday Harbor’s Old-Fashioned Holiday Market returns this year for three days of festivities, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The event features more than two dozen vendors offering an array of crafts, food products, wellness products, and other gifts for the holidays. In addition to the artisans, there are also many family events scheduled throughout the weekend. On Saturday families can enjoy hayrides, all-day visits from Santa, the Elementary School Choir (at 11:45 am) and local musicians will be performing throughout the event.
Holiday Ball & Auction to Benefit the Whale Museum

Join your friends and community for a fun, elegant night of dancing at Saltwater Farm to benefit The Whale Museum! This event will feature dancing and dance lessons, appetizers, a closed bar, and an auction with unique art, gift cards, and experiences. People of all ages are welcome to attend, children under 5 get in free and we have youth tickets available for those under 15. All profits go to The Whale Museum and its programs.
